If you're a new volleyball athlete or a seasoned one, there are many tips that can make volleyball travel tournaments a lot easier than you think. Here are 3 tips to help make your volleyball travel tournament easy, fun and enjoyable.

  • Pack smart: Make sure you look up the weather beforehand, and always bring jacket and sweatpants for the volleyball facility, it can be cold! Bring a blanket in your backpack in case there’s open sitting areas during your off time.

  • Bring a checklist of the essentials in your volleyball backpack: Make sure you have all the essentials for your volleyball game: your uniform, shoes, hair tie, knee pads, water bottle, and ball (if your coach requires it).

  • Stay hydrated and fueled: Drink plenty of water and electrolytes before, during, and after your travel to avoid dehydration and low energy. Eat healthy and balanced meals and snacks that provide you with enough energy and nutrients. Stay away from greasy, spicy, sugary, and processed foods.

*Bonus Tip: Bring a case of water and snacks for your hotel room so you stay hydrated and feeling good. It is even better if you can get breakfast to eat in your hotel room. The healthier you can eat during tournaments, the better.

We suggest things like:

  • Boiled eggs

  • Yogurt

  • Protein shakes

  • Beef Jerky

  • Fruit

  • Cottage Cheese

  • Cheese Sticks

You can bring these items with you from home, find a grocery store nearby, or place an Amazon order for delivery to your hotel.

I hope these tips help you have a wonderful travel volleyball tournament. Have fun!
